For the past 14 years, Joel Beauchemin has taught general/instrumental music in numerous private schools and music studios throughout the state of Rhode Island and southern Massachusetts. As an educator, he is firmly committed to providing well-rounded musical experiences to students of all ages. A strong proponent of Suzuki-based methodology, Joel believes that everyone has the ability to develop a strong passion for music through learning to play the violin and other instruments.
In addition to teaching, Joel is a versatile performer who has been dedicated to playing various styles such as classical, jazz, rock, and folk. He has collaborated and recorded with local artists/groups such as Miss Wensday and The Cotillions, Occidental Gypsy, Caloroso String Quartet, and many others. He is also a church musician at Our Lady of Czestochowa in Coventry, Rhode Island, where he has played violin at weekly services for 16 years.
Joel resides in North Kingstown, RI. When he isn’t teaching or gigging, he enjoys spending time with his wife, twin daughters, and lazy hounddog.
